“On the 4th day of September 1885 we the undersigned covenanted together at Peytonsville, Williamson County Tennessee to meet at the above stated place to worship God in the name of Christ his Son, and our Saviour in song, in prayer, in reading, and studying the Word of God; and to dwell together in love and peace and as a united working band of disciples to advance the cause of our blessed redeemer.”
